Sisodia Rani Bagh was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II (founder of the city of Jaipur and ruler of the Kachwaha Rajput dynasty) in 1728 for his wife Sisodia Rani, who belonged to the Sisodia Rajput clan of Udaipur. The garden is an excellent example of Mughal style garden with its terraced layout, fountains, pavilions and flowing water and is also adorned with intricate frescoes that depict scenes from the life of Lord Krishna, as Lord Krishna was the favourite deity of Queen Sisodiya.
