The land of Birla Temple located below Moti Dungri in Jaipur was purchased by the Birla family from the Maharaja of Jaipur for just ₹1. The construction of Birla Mandir was started by the people of Birla family in 1985 and was completely completed after 3 years i.e. in 1988. This Birla Mandir located in Jaipur has become very famous at present by the name of Lakshmi Narayan Temple which has become a centre of faith mainly for the people of the Hindu religion. You can also find paintings of historical achievers and spiritual saints like Socrates, Christ, Buddha, Confucius, etc. in this temple. As soon as you enter the temple, you see Lord Shri Ganesha, whose darshan is considered very auspicious.

Architecture of Birla Mandir

Built of white marble, the architecture of this temple reflects a modern style. The walls and pillars of this temple are adorned with intricate carvings depicting quotations from scriptures, mythological events and symbols, sculptures of gods and goddesses and Hindu symbols. The temple is a blend of the cultural and religious diversity of India in which you will find images of many saints, historians and philosophers of other religions present along with Hinduism.

The temple has three domes that represent different religions in India. These domes are also a symbol of secularism prevalent in India. The entrance of the temple is decorated with an image of Lord Ganesha, who is worshipped first in all Hindu religious festivals and all other auspicious functions. After having the darshan of Lord Ganesha, you further reach the main sanctum sanctorum of the temple where the idols of Lord Lakshmi and Lord Narayana are installed. These idols of Lakshmi-Narayan are carved from a single piece of marble and decorated with lavish jewellery and clothes.

The white marble of the temple is inlaid with a golden colour and gives a magnificent look to the facade. Outside the main temple structure, there are stained glass windows beautifully decorated with scenes from Hindu mythology. Just outside the main temple, there is another small temple with an idol of Lord Shiva in white marble and gold where people come to pay homage and admire its beauty.
